The client was provided with color-coded field sketch of the marked utility lines.

LIQUID NATURAL GAS FACILITY

Baltimore MD
•
Scope: National general contractor to install approximately 5500’ of new water main at a Liquid Natural Gas facility, while paralleling the existing water main.

•
Description: PULS locating crews marked a 20’ wide corridor of all utilities that crossed or paralleled the existing water main. Utilities marked include domestic and fire suppression systems, primary and secondary electric, telephone, multiple transmission and distribution gas, steam lines and fiber optic communication cables. After the contractor identified potential conflicts as per the marked utilities, they were able to adjust the path of the new main into less congested areas. PULS provided the general contractor with color-coded field sketches of the marked utility lines.

NON-LOCATABLE FIBER OPTIC DUCT

Aberdeen MD
•
Scope: Locate, mark and map an 8-mile section of Fiber Optic Duct that had been rendered un-locatable.

Utility Projects
•
Description: The client contracted PULS to locate, mark and map the fiber optic system in order that one-call contractors could accurately mark the line. PULS used a combination of locatable rodders, electromagnetic locators, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and vacuum excavation equipment to find the utility at 150’ +/- intervals. Electronic marker balls and witness posts were installed throughout the project. Measurements were taken from utility poles and other permanent structures and all information was transferred to aerial “bird’s eye” view maps of the area.
