Electromagnetic Utility Locating PULS, Inc. aids Delaware State Police in search for missing homicide victim.

On December 15, 2010, PULS, Inc. was asked by Delaware State Police to provide Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) services to aid in the search for a suspected homicide victim.  The victim, Gary W. Sanders, age 65, from Frederica, Delaware was last seen on October 1, 2010.  Delaware State Police believed that the victim was buried at a residence in Milford, Delaware.

On December 16, 2010, PULS technicians arrived on site and began to systematically scan selected areas under the direction of the State Police.  As the GPR scanning progressed, the technicians were able to successfully eliminate several suspected areas and helped concentrate the search to a wooded area behind the residence.  The GPR unit was able to identify an area in the woods in which the soil had been recently disturbed.  A cadaver dog confirmed the presence of body at this location.

Police later recovered the body of Mr. Sanders at the site.  The victim was buried over six feet underground.

Juan G. Strydom, age 30 of Milford, Delaware has been charged in the death of Mr. Sanders.

“We were more than willing to aid the Delaware State Police in their search for Mr. Sanders.”, states Joseph Geraghty, CEO of Puls Inc. He continues, “This case illustrates the versatility of our ground penetrating radar equipment as well as the skill of our technicians in their ability to locate Mr. Sanders. We regret that this case had a tragic outcome.”
