Leak Location
Leak location can be used to find water leaks in both mains and services.  First, all the mains and services in the area of the suspected leak are located and identified.  Next, a very sensitive sound transducer and amplifier are used along the pathways of the water mains and services.  The transducer and amplifier act much like a stethoscope for water leaks, allowing the technician to listen for the sound of the leak(s).

PULS, Inc. can at the client’s request vacuum excavate the suspected leak area and confirm the leak and the extent of the leak.

Fault Location
Fault location is used to find ground cable faults on electrical primaries, secondaries, lighting systems and telephone lines.  The line with the suspected fault is first located with an electromagnetic locator to determine the line’s path.  After the lines path has been determined a transmitter produces high voltage pulses along the cable that radiates into the earth at the location of each fault.  These are detected by an “A” frame receiver which can precisely pinpoint the fault.
